The QPR mission is to save lives and reduce suicidal behaviors by providing innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training. Did you know that alcohol and drug dependence/abuse increases the risk of suicide attempts or completion by 500-1000%? QPR training helps saves lives. Knowing how to recognize the warning signs of someone in a mental crisis and how substance abuse plays a role, can save the life of someone you know.
This is a special opportunity to train teens (accompanied by a parent or other adult) on ways to approach peers who are in a mental health crisis and/or who have suspected substance abuse problems.
Session will be facilitated by Mary Anne Christian, South Central Regional Director at Tennessee Suicide Prevention. Brandy Wade-Thomas, LPC-MHSP will also be in attendance.
